The Nascool MFNI-05HL motorized nasal Rinsing system is designed to provide smooth, comfortable, and efficient saline irrigation. However, as with any electronic irrigation device, users may occasionally encounter operational problems. This troubleshooting guide aims to help users identify common issues and resolve them step by step before contacting technical support.
1. Device Won't Turn On ⚡
If the device won’t turn on after pressing the power button:
✔️ Check Battery Installation 🔋
-
Ensure the battery is installed correctly with the positive (+) and negative (–) terminals aligned.
-
Please remove the battery and reinstall it to confirm good contact.
-
Ensure the battery compartment is clean and dry.
✔️ Replace with New Battery 🌟
-
The MFNI-05HL requires sufficient battery power to drive the motor and maintain pressure.
-
Replace with a brand new alkaline battery (do not mix old and new batteries).
-
Avoid rechargeable batteries if the output is unstable.
✔️ Check Power Button 🔘
-
Press the power button firmly for 1–2 seconds.
-
If the button feels stuck, gently wipe the area with a dry cloth.
2. Weak or Intermittent Water Pressure 💧
If the flushing water flow is too weak or suddenly stops:
✔️ Check Water Levels in Both Tanks 🫙🫙
-
The MFNI-05HL has two tanks:
-
Ensure the inlet tank contains enough saline solution.
-
Ensure the outlet tank is emptied before use.
-
✔️ Confirm the Tanks Are Securely Locked 🔒
-
If the tanks are not fully locked, the device will lose pressure.
-
Remove both tanks, reinstall them, and listen for a “click”.
✔️ Check for Nozzle Blockage 🚫
-
Undissolved salt crystals may form if saline isn't mixed well.
-
Rinse the nozzle with warm water.
-
Clean the inner tubing with a small cleaning brush (if provided).
✔️ Check for Air Leaks 🌬️
-
Ensure the cap is tightly closed.
-
Check that the silicone ring is properly positioned and undamaged.
✔️ Use the Correct Saline Ratio 🧂
-
Mix saline completely in boiled or purified water.
-
Undissolved salt reduces water flow.
3. Water Only Flows to One Side ↔️
If water doesn’t exit the other nostril:
✔️ Check Head Position 😊
-
Tilt your body slightly forward.
-
Tilt your head 30–45° to one side.
-
Keep your mouth open during rinsing.
✔️ Check Nozzle Alignment 🎯
-
Insert the nozzle gently and ensure both nostrils are clear.
-
Do not insert too deeply.
✔️ Check Saline Temperature 🌡️
-
Cold saline can cause nasal constriction.
-
Use warm saline for smoother rinsing.
✔️ Check Internal Channels 🔍
-
Remove the nozzle and rinse the device with clean water.
4. Device Leakage 💦
If water drips from the chamber or body:
✔️ Check Silicone Ring / Sealing Ring 🟠
-
Remove the chamber and inspect the silicone ring.
-
Ensure it is not twisted, loose, or dry.
-
Reinstall correctly.
✔️ Check Chamber Installation 🧩
-
Misalignment can cause leaks.
-
Reinstall both chambers and tighten gently.
✔️ Avoid Overfilling 🚫🫙
-
Do not exceed the maximum fill line.
-
Overfilling causes pressure imbalance.
5. Abnormal Noise or Vibration 🔊
The MFNI-05HL uses a motor to drive saline flow.
✔️ Check for Low Battery Power 🔋⬇️
-
Low power causes loud or uneven motor sound.
-
Replace the battery.
✔️ Keep the Device Upright 📏
-
Excessive tilting may cause abnormal sounds.
-
Hold upright and tilt slightly forward.
✔️ Check for Air in the Chambers 🫧
-
Open the chamber cover to release trapped air.
-
Close it again securely.
6. Device Stops During Rinsing ⛔
✔️ Battery Protection Mode 🛡️
-
The motor stops when voltage is too low.
-
Replace the battery and restart.
✔️ Saline Clog ❄️
-
Incorrect saline ratio may cause blockage.
-
Rinse with warm water and re-mix saline properly.
✔️ Nozzle Misalignment 🔄
-
Ensure the nozzle is installed securely and not twisted.
7. Discomfort During Rinsing 😣
✔️ Check Saline Concentration 🧂⚖️
-
Too high → stinging
-
Too low → pressure discomfort
-
Use the correct dosage on Nascool saline packets.
✔️ Check Water Temperature 🌡️💕
-
Use warm water (comfortable, not hot).
✔️ Check Nasal Condition 🌿
-
Avoid rinsing during severe congestion or nosebleeds.
-
Reduce rinsing angle or pressure if needed.
8. Residual Liquid Inside the Device 💧📦
✔️ Drain Quickly ⬇️
-
Remove the nozzle.
-
Shake the device downward gently.
✔️ Rinse the Channel 🌀
-
Clean with fresh water to remove residue.
✔️ Air Dry 🌬️
-
Store in a ventilated area.
-
Do not store while damp.
